But what’s a memory
If you can’t hold on to it
Tighter than earth holds
Our gravity

If you can’t bring it back,
Resurrect it from your deepest subconscious
To remind you, teach you,
Make you remember
When remembering was good

And what’s a memory
If you can’t capture it in a jar
For display
Or a safe for safekeeping

We are simply the sum of experiences
Woven together like wool sheets,
Begging our lives
To cherish them
