Childhood memories of childhood frenzies aplenty,
I miss thee.
So so much.
It's never ending and my mind is ever bending
Towards the thought of you and what we used to do,
Whether hot or cool,
We were fools.
Living under the presumption of a bubble utopia
With a cornucopia of time and space to express our minds
Every time the sun shined until the brightness would subside.
I couldn't grasp how precious a swing set was
Until life began to swing haymakers.
Wasn't able to let the thought of a slide slip into my mind
Until I slid out of the childlike mindset.
Didn't value a seesaw until I never saw people again.
Didn't appreciate monkey bars
Until I realized how many of us are behind bars.
Didn't have the revelation that children have the most
Important responsibilities of all.
To live and love life as fully as possible.
To hold on as long as possible.
To dream impossibly, and make it possible.
Childhood memories of childhood frenzies aplenty,
I miss thee.
So so much.
It's never ending and my mind is ever bending
Towards the thought of you and what we used to do,
Whether hot or cool,
We were fools.
